The legendary Chlopskie Jadlo (Farmer's Feast) is well-known for its traditional Polish cuisine. This cozy restaurant has a historic country-style atmosphere and serves simple but tasty dishes whose portions obviously resemble the energy consumption needed by hardworking Polish farmers. Homebaked bread and a bread knife are a substantial part of every meal. It is advisable to make advance reservations for this award-winning restaurant, especially on weekends. As a widely recognized and established institution in Poland, Chlopskie Jadlo is socially engaged. Since 1998 for instance Chlopskie Jadlo organizes a Christmas dinner for the needy and the homeless each Sunday before Christmas where in 2002 40 000 meals were handed out for charity. On certain evenings the already traditional atmosphere will be enhanced by the sounds of traditional Polish folk music.
