Our tour starts at the most picturesque boulevard of Lviv. The Prospekt Svobody (Freedom Walk) follows the subterranean river bed of the Poltava. Here you will find many hotels - many of them steeped in tradition - next to modern restaurants and historical wine cellars, comfortable cafés, museums, shopping malls and the dazzling Theater of Opera and Ballet. Romantic side streets offer views of the old town. The silhouettes of the city hall's and the churches's towers lend a nice accent to the boulevard.
Discover the medieval Lviv. Take a look at the city's stronghold and its astoundingly thick walls. You see old watch towers, defensive walls, armories and abbey walls.
Then, our tour guide will introduce you to the Rynok(the market square, Renaissance, 16th to 18th century) and the neighbouring buildings. To name but a few: the city hall (1827-1835) dating from the time of the late classicism, the four fountains at the corners of the square featuring sculptures of Neptune, Adonis, Diana, Amphitrite (1793), and 44 overwhelmingly adorned merchant houses.
We take a look into the Italian Court, then stroll through the original Armenian and Jewish quarters. The street names still recall the ethnical diversity of Lviv. A babylonian multitude also reigns in the field of religion. We will show you some of the cathedrals.
