More:
Not without reason the Opera of Lviv counts among the most beautiful opera houses in Europe. Indee, the building features an opulent facade and a splendid interior. It was erected in the years from 1897 to 1900 by a well known Vienna architect, S. Gorgolewski, in the style of the "Viennese Neo-Renaissance" which is a mixture of different architectural styles. Three gates, covered by a loggia with korinthian columns, adorn the main entrance. The beholder is impressed by rich sculptural works in niches on both the right and the left side of the entrance as well as in the tympanum.
