The large hotel that has hosted a number of famous guests was constructed in new Renaissance style in 1901 by the Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer. It is located near the Adam Mikiewicz monument close to the opera and the central market square. All rooms have been renovated and furnished in accordance with the standard, i.e., the tourist class has a washing facility inside of the room; common showers and toilets are located on the floor. In the luxury and first class category, rooms have bath, cable TV and a telephone. The hotel has three elegant restaurants in impressive rooms.
