The historic and luxurious Hotel Astoria was built in 1912 in the "Nordic Modern" style by the architect Fedor Lidval at one of the grandest squares in St. Petersburg. On the one side it boasts the imposing St. Isaacs Cathedral and on the other one of the widest bridges. All of the 436 rooms are well-equipped with modern facilities, including satellite and cable TV, in house television system, air-conditioning, international direct-dial, mini-bar, mini-safe. Each room has its own character, no room or lounge is identical, in keeping with the original style. The Astoria's lobby cafe is one of the most beautiful in the city and its restaurants offer traditional continental and Russian cuisine.
